San Francisco Overland’s name and idea came about by Steven, who had the aspiration to start something new that would complement the history and travel of yesteryear. The domain name was purchased long before the ideas started to populate into what it is today. Doing research into the name, Steven discovered it was a train line that can be explored in so much deeper detail in the area’s museums, and by visiting the Wikipedia link here: San Francisco Overland Limited
Steven got his start in the outdoor adventure and overland world 10 years ago when he went to work for a gear & axle manufacturer that introduced him to overlanding, Ultra4 racing, drag racing, rock crawling and the associated builds. He progressed through the channels eventually ending up in the professional marketing arena for several outdoor and sporting goods retailers as well as consulting for several major outdoor manufacturers along the way.
Fast forward to 2023, where San Francisco Overland finally came to fruition by Steven and Susie, a pair of outdoor enthusiasts who saw a growing demand for high-quality, versatile, and reliable camping trailers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Both, who share a passion for exploring the great outdoors, recognized the need for a convenient and affordable way for people to experience the beauty of Northern California and beyond without the hassle of owning and maintaining their own trailer.
With this vision in mind, they set out to create a rental service that offered top-of-the-line trailers equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable and memorable camping or overlanding experience. Over the last year, San Francisco Overland has grown to become a trusted provider of premium and luxurious trailer rentals, consulting services, retail sales, guided excursions, camping adventures, and helping countless wanderers embark on exciting journeys across the stunning landscapes of California and so far beyond.
